Let’s talk about some healthy pastes today. My meals almost always include dressings and pastes. I simply can’t stand dry food and prefer using some kind of paste for extra flavor. Unfortunately, some of these pastes are really high on calories, and if you’re trying to lose weight, they are a straight no!
To deal with this issue, we have collected the recipes for some healthy pastes, that are not only low on calories but will also help your body in the detox process.
Tahini Pastes
I HAVE A BIG OL’ CRUSH ON TAHINI. I CAN EAT IT WITH EVERYTHING – AND BY EVERYTHING, I MEAN LITERALLY EVERYTHING 🙂
Although Tahini is considered as a healthy fat, yet consuming more than 2 spoons of Tahini dressing per meal is not recommended.:(
Tumeric tahini dressing
Ingredients
- 5 tbsp Tahini
- 3 tbsp Lemon Juice
- 2 tbsp Water
- 1 tsp Turmeric
- 1/2 tsp Sea Salt
Add all the ingredients to a small food processor or a blender. Blend the mixture until smooth. You can also process the ingredients by hand if an electronic processor is not available.
Beetroot Tahini

Spirulina Tahini

- 1 tbsp Spirulina Powder
- 1/2 tsp Sea Salt
Add all the ingredients to a small food processor or a blender. Blend the mixture until smooth.
Pesto Detox Paste
Most people use Basil for making Pesto, but for this one, we’ll slightly change the ingredients and use Parsley and Coriander instead. Parsley and Coriander act as cleansing herbs and are hence very healthy for us. The Pesto paste made out of Parsley and Coriander is not only great in taste but also speeds up the detox process at the same time. You can use it with any dish you like and it will taste just the same.
Ingredients
- 3 Garlic Cloves
- 1/2 cup Brazil Nuts
- 1/3 cup Sunflower Seeds
- 1/3 cup Pumpkin Seeds
- 1 cup Parsley
- 1 cup Coriander
- 2/3 cup Extra-Virgin Olive Oil
- 4 tbsp Lemon Juice
- 1/2 tsp Sea Salt
Add all the ingredients to a small food processor or a blender. Blend the mixture until smooth.
Green Goddess pastes
I like this dressing best with the Green Buddha Bowl. For me, both dishes complement each other and taste even better together. The Green Goddes dressing is low in fat and high in protein and hence has some really great health benefits.
Ingredients
- One Package of Tofu (organic, firm)
- 2 Garlic Cloves
- 1 Scallion, white and green parts
- 1 cup Fresh Herbs to taste (I personally recommend using Parsley, Coriander, and Dill)
- 3 tbsp Olive Oil
- 1 tbsp Lemon Juice (or more to taste)
- 1 tbsp Vinegar – white, sherry, apple cider or champagne
- 1 tbsp Water, or a just little more to get the blades of the blender moving
- 1 tbsp Sea Salt
- ½ tbsp Pepper
Add all the ingredients to a small food processor or a blender. Blend the mixture until smooth.
